WHEREIN SOMEONE (other than me) REMEMBERED THE CAMERA

Christmas tradition states that the angel goes on last.  I dig this.  Christmas tradition might also state that child who wishes to place the angel atop the Christmas tree must endure a brutal fight to the death with his siblings to earn that right.  Well, it might.  At least in my house it seems this is standard procedure when "Mommy" can't remember which one of her three had this honor last year and picks the "wrong" kid this year.  But this year I am wise to my apparent early onset of Alzheimer's....we took a photo!

Tada!  Further evidence that I am a genius (at covering my tracks of ineptitude) as well as concrete proof that my mother still believes I am prone to just flipping my children over my back onto the hardwood floors when the child has completed said angel task.  She looks completely worried here doesn't she?  Like she must brace this child like that because the tree is actually 100 feet tall and I have my son perched on my shoulders whilst we all attempt to balance ourselves on an unsecured extension ladder.

Of  course this is exactly how I left the angel when he was all done for fear of bruising his delicate artistic ego.  I was equally surprised as the rest of the family to learn that the angel had miraculously righted itself sometime during the night such that it was perfectly, no, picture-perfectly straight!  Apparently even our little angel of Christmas joy is equally adept at covering her tracks of ineptitude.
